The world faced a devastating pandemic, social unrest, and political upheaval in 2020 like nothing the living generations have ever faced before (unless you were alive in 1918, which makes you the fabulous exception!). Most of us endured lockdowns and isolation, and if you are reading this, congratulations! You are a survivor! The pandemic isn’t over, but hope is on the horizon. That doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be sailing through 2021, but we can certainly make it easier on ourselves and on everyone around us. We’ll be sharing 21 ways to stay fabulous in 2021 in a series of posts. Here are your first 2 ways to stay Fabulous in 2021!
- Take care of yourself. Regardless of what is happening around you or what you want to accomplish, remember that you won’t be able to do it if you are unwell. It isn’t being selfish. It’s just being pragmatic. Take time to take care of yourself. Make sure your needs are met. The healthier and stronger you are, the more you can do and accomplish. The healthier and stronger you are, the more you can do for others. The healthier and stronger you are, the more Fabulous you will look and feel!
- Be kind to others and mask up. These are still pandemic times. Science and experience have shown us that wearing a mask protects others from us. Whenever we speak, we spread droplets of saliva that carry our germs and, if we have it, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. We also know that the newest strain is much more infectious than the original strain. While a mask may protect us from droplets spread by others, it will protect others from us, as well. It also sends others the message that you care about them and their health. For extra protection, a face shield over your mask will block more splatter going either way. Don’t forget to wash your masks and clean your face shield regularly. Protecting others and yourself should make you feel Fabulous because you are doing your tiny share in keeping the pandemic under control. To add to your Fabulous feelings about masking up, get yourself some patterned or printed reusable masks to save on cost and the environment. If you’re using disposable masks, remember to dispose of them properly in waste bins. Now, doesn’t that feel Fabulous? You’re also protecting the environment!

Mask up! Be Fabulous for others, for yourself, and for the environment!
