Less than three years after Miguel earned his hairstyling diploma, he had launched and grown Salon Miguel by leaps and bounds, earning him the coveted New Entrepreneur of the Year Award, a recognition from the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce. To his excitement, Miguel also received congratulations from dignitaries and various offices: Office of the Regional Chair Roger Anderson for The Regional Municipality of Durham, the MPP of Oshawa Jerry J. Ouellette, the Office of the Mayor of City of Oshawa Nancy L. Diamond, and the Office of the Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
